Annet

I was adopted by a very large Italian family Canini, and that along with my divine mother-in-law (la nonna Attilia), means that the Italian kitchen has consistently been a central part of my life.

In Antwerp Belgium, I ran a successful Italian catering and delicacies business for many years, which continues to thrive (www.settepiatti.com). It made me want to go and learn even more about Italy’s regions and their unique culinary traditions. I want to share the most mouthwatering tales and collect and narrate my impressions of this incredible food culture.
Before I entered into the restaurant business, I was a researcher, working for SMIT (Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology) at ‘Vrije Universiteit Brussel’ and before that, I was a teacher and researcher at the University college Thomas More. My field of interest was journalism and communication.

My passions all come together; the urge to investigate combines with my love for Italy and its gastronomy. What is meant to be, will always find its way!
